In all Lotus Recovery Centers, you’ll find abstinence-based treatment program options. What this means is that clients in these programs do not take medication while detoxing and recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. Instead, after detoxing, our clients receive support and counseling to help them navigate their daily lives while sober. We help clients build healthy coping skills and help them work through mental health issues and past trauma in our abstinence-based programs.
Why Choose an Abstinence Program
Is an abstinence-based program right for you? While medication-assisted treatment can be incredibly effective, it’s not right for everyone. We recommend an abstinence program for individuals who are working to overcome addictions to the following substances:
If you’re not sure if you are in need of treatment for an addiction, consider the following questions:
- Have you started using prescription drugs in a way other than as prescribed?
- Have your loved ones expressed concern about your use of drugs or alcohol?
- Do you find that you have to drink more or take more of the substance to feel the same effects as in the past?
- Do you experience withdrawal symptoms like insomnia, headaches, or nausea when you are not drinking or using drugs?
- Have you tried to stop in the past but has been unable to?
- Have you been to treatment before but have relapsed?
If any of the above apply to you, reach out to Lotus Recovery Centers today. We provide comprehensive care from detox to aftercare to help our clients rebuild their lives.
Our Abstinence-Based Program
Clients in all of our addiction treatment programs take part in both group and individual therapy. Our teams provide support during the early days of recovery and beyond. We help clients maintain their sobriety as they develop the healthy coping skills they need for long-term recovery.
During group therapy, our clients spend time building a network of support with their peers in recovery under the guidance of an experienced therapist. We use the 12-step approach in our group sessions, which involves acknowledging that addiction is a disease that requires lifelong management and appealing to a higher power for help in overcoming this disease.
In our abstinence-based program, we do not expect clients to stay sober without support. We understand how challenging it can be to go back to your everyday life, experience cravings for drugs or alcohol, and avoid relapse. That’s why we incorporate a wide variety of therapies into our treatment plans. From evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy to holistic approaches to treatment, we help clients work through the underlying causes of addiction and build new healthy habits.
One reason why many individuals do not seek out help for substance abuse is because they are concerned about detox. It can be challenging to go through detox if you do not know what to expect. At Lotus Recovery Centers, we offer medical support as well as therapy and counseling for those in our abstinence-based programs as they go through detox.
